What's Going On?

We have the most powerful army in the world, and one of the first things Obama did as president was try to change our methods of interrogation. Why? And what's next? No shooting during battle?

We have the most powerful nation in the world, and since day one, Obama has been trying to send us into bankruptcy with bailouts, astronomical spending, and health care bills we can't afford. Why? Do any of these acts have anything to do with his Muslim ties? Is that why he wants the 911 terrorists tried in a civil court where dismissal by technicallity is king?

Since we're too powerful to fight, is he trying to destroy America from within?

What's going on?

Corrupt Politicians. Any Ideas On How To Stop Them?

Everyone has their own ideas on this subject, some realistic, some far-fetched. Here's mine, although I'm not sure into which category my view falls. Could be a little of both.

What if anyone could run for office if they acquired enough signatures (a pre-determined amount, collected through an unbiased third party) to get them on the ballot. The candidates would be limited to the amount of money they could spend to get these signatures, and all donated or campaign money would be placed into a pool and split equally between those who qualify for the ballot. Media air time would also be split equally between each candidate.

The person who uses the soundest judgement and spends the least should get the job. Anyone found to be taking money on the side should be arrested immediately and brought up on charges. Every candidate or elected official will be subject to financial audit without warning.

The only way we'll ever have an honest government is if we get rid of corruption. Maybe if we get enough ideas, we can merge a few and come up with a solution.

Got any ideas?

Spend $15 Billion To Cut Taxes?

Hmm. Let me see if I have this right. The Obama Administration wants to spend $15 Billion of taxpayer's money so they can cut taxes for businesses, and offer them incentives, so those businesses will hire people to sell products that no one is buying.

Is that about it?

Well, I can tell you from the grass roots level that I wouldn't care how many incentives and tax breaks the government gives me. If my merchandise isn't selling, I'm not going to hire anyone.

Unfortunately, like most of Washington's ideas, they look good on paper and in theory, but in reality, they just don't work. If Washington really wants to get this country back on solid footing again, then they need to STOP SPENDING OUR MONEY!

Obamacare...or...Obamachaos?

For some unknown reason, Obama refuses to accept the fact that the people of the USA do not want his healthcare bill. Just because he thinks it's right doesn't make it so. And now he’s trying to pass this unwanted bill on the back of a "budget bill" so he can get it through with only 51% of the vote. He can't possibly believe the American people are stupid enough to let this happen.

Is his ego so large that he thinks his intelligence is superior to the majority of the American people who don't agree with him? It looks to me like he's trying to destroy the USA by dividing her. Or maybe it's the Democratic Party he wants to obliterate.

What is his real motive?

Michelle Has Right Idea But Wrong Approach To Childhood Obesity

Mrs. Obama has the right idea, trying to control childhood obesity, but she's convinced that parental ignorance about nutrition is to blame.

Not true. For the most part, parents do try to get their kids to eat healthy; veggies, grains, healthy snacks, milk, fruits, etc.

If Michelle is sincere about this issue, she needs to address the real cause. Floride in drinking water and preservatives in nearly every bite of food we eat destroys the body's metabolism--and without that, it doesn't matter how healthy you eat, your body can't burn off fat.

Go after the real culprit, Mrs. O. The FDA.

How Much More Do We Take Before We Impeach Obama?

I cannot believe that Obama is trying to lock up some of the most valuable land in America on the pretense of using it for "National Monuments", and he's skirting congress to do it. Why is he trying to sneak this through? Could it be because these lands contain the most valuable oil and gold in the US, and he can lock them up so no one can have access to them when needed?

Here's an excerpt from Fox News:

Presidential use of the Antiquities Act is highly controversial because the White House, with the stroke of a pen, can lock up thousands of square miles of federal lands used for timber, ranching, mining and energy development without local input or congressional approval. The Act is generally interpreted to commemorate or protect a specific historical landmark, not prohibit development or deprive local communities of jobs and tax revenues.

"Any federal action that could lead to limited access should be done in an open and public manner using extraordinary caution," said Rep. Dean Heller, R-Nev., upon seeing the leaked report. "The fact that this administration is already circulating internal memos to bypass Congress and the public process is troubling."

Obama Not Doing Democrats Any Favors

By campaigning for the Dems, Obama thinks he's helping, but he's not. He has lied to the people so many times, they won't believe anything he says. The Democrats are sure to lose if he's trying to sell them.

Oh, and his most recent lie...he said the middle class wouldn't be touched by all the economic falderal going on in Washington. Not true. Before Obama, if a husband and wife, filing jointly, made less than $29,000.00 they didn't have to file (or pay). Now, thanks to Obama, if that same couple makes more than a ridiculously low $4,500.00 they have to file and pay. This is just what we need when people are out of work, out of their homes, and desperately trying to feed their families. Thank you again, Mr. Obama. You're a real asset to our country.

Save Our Country

We need to act NOW if we're going to save our country. Things are going from bad to worse every single day.

As much as I hate to say it, I honestly believe we need to impeach Obama and put someone in the White House who knows what they're doing--before it's too late.

Why Is There An Issue Over Where To Try The Terrorists?

This is an issue that should have been resolved the first time it came up. No one except Obama and the few Senators he was able to sway (by whatever means) want the terrorists tried in New York.

The voice of the people has made it very, very clear that this is unacceptable. Not only because we don't want these criminals given access to American lawyers and taxpayers' money. We don't want the terrorists here, period. They committed an act of war. They are war criminals. They need to be tried by the military.

So why does Obama and his cohorts still push to get this issue through? Why are they wasting our money arguing over something they know damn good and well the people don't want? Do they have some secret ulterior motive? What is going on?

Obama's arrogance and his I'm-the-president-and-I'll-do-as-I-please attitude is going to get him impeached.

Washington, Get Your Priorities Straight

What is wrong in Washington? I know those people aren't ignorant, so why are they behaving so irrationally? They still don't have their priorities in order. Maybe if we spell it out a little more clearly.

Stop trying to do everything at once. You'll never get anything done. Take it one issue at a time, beginning with the economy.

Once that's fixed, then go to work on the next problem.

Political Whirlpool

I'm getting dizzy from all the political rhetoric. In fact, I'm starting to get seasick. The politicians are still arguing over how to fix the economic problems, health care, unemployment, and outrageous tax budgets, yet no one is doing anything about it. It's like trying to move a ship forward while everyone's rowing in a different direction.

Obama once said (in one of his better moments) that since the people didn't like his policies, he'd like to hear their ideas.

Well, Washington, give us a forum (web page) to input and share our solutions, and together we might be able to resolve some of these issues. Anything is better than what's happening now.

Obama Is Still Passing The Buck

For the last year, Obama has blamed everything he can't fix on Bush. Now, when Obama is getting flack about constantly using Bush as an excuse, he's changed tactics. Now he's blaming the Republicans for not letting him get things done. I don't suppose it's ever occurred to Obama that the Republicans might be listening to the 300 million people who don't like Obama's policies. And I know he's never considered the possibility that his approach to problem solving might be...wrong.

Buck it up, Obama. You may be "extending a hand and getting back a fist", but maybe your extended hand isn't all that open, either.

Don't Ask Don't Tell?

Why has this suddenly become an issue? Doesn't our country have enough go contend with at the moment? Why is DC bringing more issues to the front that could be dealt with at a later time--after we're back on more solid footing? Could this be yet another ploy to take the country's focus off Obama's sagging popularity and numerous recurring mistakes?

If that's so, it's not working, Washington.
