Entitlement my ass, I paid cash for my social security insurance. Just because our out-of-control government borrowed and never repaid the money, it doesn't make my benefits some kind of charity or handout. But that could describe Congressional benefits; free healthcare, outrageous retirement packages, 67 paid holidays, three weeks paid vacation, unlimited paid sick days. Now those are handouts. And they have the nerve to call my retirement entitlements.
WAKE UP AMERICA!
A local newspaper, ran two articles on the front page, side by side:
1- Calif 's 20 Billion Dollar Budget Deficit
2- The Calif Supreme Court ruling that ILLEGALS can attend college and get benefits.
Why don't they just deport them when they arrive to register?
3- Last year they ran an article on the yearly costs to California Taxpayers from Illegals using Hospital Emergency Rooms for their general health care.
At just one hospital alone the cost to tax payers totaled over 25 million a year
Someone please tell me what the HELL'S wrong with the people that run this country?
We're "broke" and can't help our own Seniors, Veterans, Orphans, and Homeless, but we can give billions away to other countries.
In the last months we have provided aid to Haiti, Chile, Turkey, and Japan. And let’s not forget Pakistan...the home of bin Laden. Our leaders literally gave away BILLIONS of DOLLARS!
Our retired seniors living on a 'fixed income' ($800 single, $1,100 couple, a month) receive no aid nor do they get any breaks while our government and religious organizations pour Hundreds of Billions of dollars and Tons of Food to Foreign Countries! And the amount of taxpayer dollars they give to foreign student’s to educate the little darlings is staggering.
They call Social Security and Medicare entitlements even though most of us have been paying for them all our working lives and now when it's time for us to collect, the government has spent our money. Why did the government borrow it in the first place? Were they overspending even in the beginning?
We have hundreds of adoptable children who are shoved aside to make room for the adoption of foreign orphans. Why?
AMERICA: a country where we have homeless without shelter, children going to bed hungry, elderly going without 'needed' meds, and mentally ill without treatment, YET they have a 'Benefit' for the people of Haiti on 12 TV stations, ships and planes lining up with food, water, tents clothes, bedding, doctors and medical supplies.
Imagine if the *GOVERNMENT* gave 'US' the same support they give to other countries.

Congress Screwed Up
Alan Simpson, Senator from Wyoming,Co-Chair of Obama's deficit commission, calls senior citizens the Greediest Generation as he compared "Social Security to a milk cow with 310 million teats". August, 2010.
Here's a response in a letter from an unknown fellow in Montana... I think he is a little ticked off! He also tells it like it is !
"Hey Alan, let's get a few things straight..."
1. As a career politician, you have been on the public dole for FIFTY YEARS.
2. I have been paying Social Security taxes for 48 YEARS (since I was 15 years old. I am now 63).
3. My Social Security payments, and those of millions of other Americans, were safely tucked away in an interest bearing account for decades until you political pukes decided to raid the account and give OUR money to a bunch of zero ambition losers in return for votes, thus bankrupting the system and turning Social Security into a Ponzi scheme that would have made Bernie Madoff proud.
4 Recently, just like Lucy & Charlie Brown, you and your ilk pulled the proverbial football away from millions of American seniors nearing retirement and moved the goalposts for full retirement from age 65 to age 67. NOW, you and your shill commission is proposing to move the goalposts YET AGAIN.
5. I, and millions of other Americans, have been paying into Medicare from
Day One, and now you morons propose to change the rules of the game. Why? Because you idiots mismanaged other parts of the economy to such an extent that you need to steal money from Medicare to pay the bills.
6. I, and millions of other Americans,have been paying income taxes our
entire lives, and now you propose to increase our taxes yet again. Why?

Unusual Post
I don't usually post anything personal, but today I just need a friend.
Last July, the doctors diagnosed my husband of 48 years with lung cancer. He's nearing his last days, and I'm having trouble dealing with the inevitable.
It feels like the sun is dying with him, and I don't know what to do. Seeing him breaks my heart, but the thought of not seeing him tears out my soul.
My children are hurting as much as I am, and it's killing me to see them try to hide their suffering to ease my pain. They must forget that I know them better than anyone.
I keep asking myself: Is this a test of faith? Why would the Lord want to do that to me? I'm not perfect, but I've always been faithful.
Then I think, maybe He just wants to take my husband home because He misses him, misses the laughter, the ever-present smile, the michieviousness in those beautiful blue eyes, the happiness he brings, the way he touches the deepest part those around him.
I don't know the Lord's reasons, but I do know I desperately need Him to help me through this.

Dream Act? Or Yet Another Washington Nightmare?
Harry Reid is trying to convince Congress and The People that his 'Dream Act' bill will be good for everyone.
In what world?
He claims that these poor youngsters were brought here as small children by their illegal parents (through no fault of their own), and this is the only life they've ever known.
So what Reid is actually saying is We The People have been paying for these illegal aliens for decades, and now he wants them to have more.
What is it about illegal that Harry Reid doesn't understand?
And why now? Why is this issue suddenly so urgent? Reid knows we're in the middle of a recession and trying to cut spending. So why would he propose another $6B annual spending bill on America right now?
What's wrong with requiring these youngsters to become legal immigrants like all before them--instead of offering yet another free hand-out?
I think something smells in Washington--and it's coming from Harry Reid's office.

Congress Needs To Start Living In The Real World
Those in Washington honestly believe that a tax hike to the rich wouldn't affect jobs. Whoever taught them about economics should be fired.
The naive believers in 'Washington economics' say Bush didn't create jobs when he kept tax cuts in place for ten years.
Excuse me?
Until it became apparent that Obama was going to be elected president, the unemployment rate was at 5%. Most everyone had a job. The economy was sluggish, but we weren't nearly bankrupt.
After Obama was elected, unemployment went up to 7%. No viable company wants to hire in an uncertain environment.
Then Obama (and Pelosi) pushed through a health care reform bill that no one wanted except Obama and 'his' congress--and unemployment skyrocketed to neary 10%.
And it's stayed there because every month there is another push for more spending, more taxes, another bid for amnesty, bailouts, and on and on.
Yet those in Congress can't admit they've made some terrible mistakes. And worse, they've done nothing to correct them. The only things they have done in Washington has been to help their financial backers and try to give money and a vote to those who bypassed our immigration laws and entered this country illegally.
Our government has become destructive to The People.
Washington apparently hasn't read the Declaration of Independence. They don't grasp the fact that we can 'abolish' and 'replace' a destructive government anytime we choose.

Congratulations To All Our New Senators & Representatives
It's nice to have officials in Washington who will listen to The People. Maybe now we'll be able to cut back on Washington spending, repeal health care, stop bailouts, and secure our borders.
I was dumbfounded when I heard that Nevada, who is on the brink of bankruptcy, had re-elected the same man who got them into this mess. Harry Reid keeps saying (like California's Barbara Boxer) that he'll get to work fixing the economy.
Um. Hasn't he and Boxer both been in the Senate for decades? They haven't fixed it before. Do they now have a magic formula? Why on earth would the people in NV and CA believe them?
We have to make sure our leaders know that we will not accept Harry Reid's "Dream Act" during the lame duck session. We can't afford to give amnesty to 11 million + illegals and/or send them to school at our expense so they can become citizens. We don't have the money or the jobs to support them.
The truth is, we're going to have to watch the departing officials closely. They may want to cause chaos for not getting re-elected. And our new leaders have enough to contend with without having to fix the outgoing senators and reps acts of retribution.
I'm still reeling from the amount of money Obama is spending on this trip to the far east. $200M a day for 10 days (3,000 people?). We can't afford liberal spending like that. It's got to stop.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everything transitions smoothly, and we can at last move toward recovering our nation and our economy--and stop the wild spending.

Our Elected Officials Only Have Power As Long As We The People Allow Them The Priviledge
Somewhere along the line, our President, Congress, Senators, and Legislators didn't grasp the part of their schooling about being representatives of The People.
They didn't understand (and still don't) that they only have power as long as We The People allow it.
This whole election uproar is because the men and women we elected to represent us refused to listen when we spoke. Who on earth convinced them that they knew what was best for us?
They ignored our voice and spent outrageous amounts of OUR money, passed destructive bills that we voiced (very loudly) that we didn't want, they put our country and people at risk by failing to do their job by securing the borders, and the President even ignored our representatives to pass executive orders that no one wanted. What kind of government does this?
Not ours.
Obama wanted change, but the change was for Washington.
We demand change, and we will have it...for America, not politicians.
And no one will stand in our way to make this country whole again.
Tomorrow America votes. Maybe Washington will hear us this time.
