Civil Trials For Terroists?

Why is the government attempting to try terrorists in a civil court? Is someone in the upper echelon hoping to see vicious criminals released on a ‘technicality’, which sadly happens all too often in our society? What's going on? These men (and I use the term loosely) committed an act of war against the United States of America. They are war criminals. They need to be transferred to Gitmo and be tried by the military courts immediately. On this issue, there should never be an exception.

State of the Union...Catastrophic!

I didn't listen Obama's state of the union address (my stomach couldn't take another of his useless speeches), but I did watch Fox News' highlights and clips. Same ole, same ole. Obama tells the people what they want to hear--and he honestly expects them to believe him. Just because he was able to deceive some of the people once doesn't mean they'll allow him to do it again.

Sorry Mr. Obama. The old cliché still stands. Actions speak louder than words. And your actions have not been those of a responsible American President.

Obama's Honesty?

Is Obama back-pedaling to take focus off the health care bill? I sincerely hope he isn't trying to sneak it through behind our backs. He plans to announce in his State of the Union address that he will direct his efforts toward restoring the economy by creating jobs and helping the middle class. There isn't a single reason to believe him. He's lied from the beginning, and he hasn't fufilled any of his 'campaign promises'. But it's a clever ploy--tell the people what they want to hear. But don't tell them what it will cost them. Sorry Obama, you'll need a better hook than that to reel us in again.

Is Washington Listening?

After Scott Brown's victory in MA. I thought Washington was finally going to listen to the public. Obama even said they weren't going to try to vote on the health care bill before Sen. Brown was seated. Then this morning, I hear on the news that Obama is holding a special meeting to 'discuss' the bill...without Sen. Brown. Why would he want to discuss this issue before Brown joined the team? What's going on? Are we being lied to again?

Whose Money Is Obama Spending To Help The Coakley Campaign?

Since when does a president get involved in a campaign for a replacement Senator? And is he spending American tax dollars to do this? Does Obama really want to settle the ongoing health care issue that badly? My guess is no. I believe he's simply determined to complete at least one of the many tasks he promised during his own campaign. Apparently, he'll do anything to help lift his ratings in the polls--and it obviously doesn't matter who he has to bribe or who he has to 'help' in their campaign to see that end. Why are we putting up with such a self-serving president?

Another Obama Ploy

Obama's team is definitely trying to sway attention away from the president's sagging popularity by switching the public's focus to Harry Reid's comments. It doesn't matter that Reid apologized (and Obama accepted), the 'team' is going to milk this for every drop. Using another 'newsworthy' issue is the quickest way to divert attention from Obama's failed issues and mistakes.

Lower The Minimum Wage To Create More Jobs?

I don't see how that could possibly work unless every product on the market was reduced in price. If a company can't sell its merchandise, they aren't going to hire anyone--no matter how cheap the labor. Our economy is at the bottom of the barrel, and something like this could send it rolling into oblivion.

Those on Capitol Hill are living in a fantasy world. They don't understand how hard the people of the USA fight for survival. Lawmakers, with their fat paychecks, free travel, fancy dinners, stylists, and gofers, can't grasp what's happening to the rest of us.

Maybe if we reduce their paychecks to minimum wage for 6 months, make them pay for their own child care, their own transportation, their own meals, their own clothes, write their own correspondence, run their own errands, and pay taxes for every dime they earn, they might get a good idea of what's it's really like to be an American in this economy. Maybe then they wouldn't be so quick to consider cutting minimum wage to create jobs, attempting to force bills on us we don't want, or raising taxes.

Who's In Control Of Our Country?

I must have missed something. The last I heard, the government was "the people of the United States". So what happened? We elected a president who was not the choice of the popular vote (only the majority of the representatives). The majority of Americans did not want the billions of dollars going to the car manufacturers, banks, etc., but the funds were issued anyway. Now, the president and house intend to pass a bill that the majority of Americans clearly do not want.

What's going on? When did the control of our country fall into the hands of a few liberals?
